Laboratoires Dujardin-Salleron
1. Are Dujardin-Salleron Laboratories a laboratory?
NO - They only bear the name. The company designs, manufactures, and distributes analysis equipment and measuring instruments for oenology and spirits. It is not an analysis laboratory, but a manufacturer and supplier of equipment for oenological laboratories, as well as for winemakers, wineries, cooperatives, and other professionals in the sector.
2. What were the first names of the two founders?
The two founders were both named Jules. Jules Salleron and Jules Dujardin. Inspired by Pasteur's work, Jules Salleron became particularly interested in fermentation and alcohol determination, specializing in precision instrumentation. He invented the still, the acetimeter, and, most notably, the ebullioscope in 1870. Joined by Jules Dujardin in 1878, the duo continued to innovate, becoming pioneers in the development of instruments for analyzing musts and wines.
3. In which iconic building were the Dujardin-Salleron Laboratories located?
In 1855, Jules Salleron founded the precision instrument manufacturing company. Initially located on rue Pont-de-Lodi, it was later moved to 24 rue Pavée, which today houses the Historical Library of the City of Paris.
4. How old is the Dujardin-Salleron company?
In 2025, LDS celebrated 170 years of existence. Few companies can boast such a legacy. From its beginnings, its DNA has been based on innovation and long-term vision. Its founders were pioneers in oenological analysis, and today they continue this dynamic by expanding its scope of action. Understanding market needs, anticipating developments, and adapting – that is what drives it.
5. Are the instruments in the LDS catalog intended only for the oenology and spirits sector?
NO - Certain instruments are also used in the spirits, cider, beer, and distilled product sectors, as well as in some food industries, particularly those involving fruits and vegetables, vinegars, mustards, and honey).
6. Are Dujardin-Salleron Laboratories ISO 9001 certified?
YES - The company has been ISO 9001 certified since 2005. This certification reflects its commitment to offering reliable products and services, while integrating responsible practices at every stage of its activity, with the aim of customer satisfaction. Wishing to play an active role in the ecological transition, it carried out an assessment of its greenhouse gas emissions and committed to reducing them by 16% by 2030. It has also recently joined the Coq Vert community, a national network of companies committed to the ecological transition.

In 2025, the company will realize its ambition by developing solutions dedicated to the creation of new beverages. CREAWINE Technologies, an innovation platform designed to support the transition of the wine industry, will be awarded a gold medal at the SITEVI Innovation Awards 2025.
In the same year, La Fabrique Héritier Distillery will receive a silver medal at the Spirits Selection 2025 by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles for the creation of its orange gin Point Triple, whose unique aromatic profile was made possible thanks to the LDiStill vacuum distillation unit, designed by Dujardin-Salleron.
These two distinctions confirm Dujardin Salleron's ability to bring French industrial innovation to national and international stages, by sustainably supporting the evolution of the wine and spirits sectors.
